Save Money on Bike Greenslips

My Bike Greenslip Hunt

I rang the above two companies over 20 times to try and get a proper quote for the exact motorbike.

NRMA resulted in the most time wasted with them unable to acknowledge the bike we were importing even existed, though it was listed on REDBook, the Car and Bike valuation website owned by NRMA themselves.

NRMA ended up doing a custom quote on the greenslip and charged $450 for it and said that Comprehensive insurance would cost over $1700 a year with them.

GIO quoted only $350 – a saving of one hundred dollars which isn’t bad.

Insurance wise we ended up going with Insure My Ride – an Australian company that is sister companies with Shannons Insurance, resulting in comprehensive insurance for only $800.

High Performance Motorbikes can sometimes be quite hard to insure and register. For people looking to register either a sports bike or cruiser, eg; a Harley Davidson Greenslip – i would suggest talking to GIO as they acknowledged the actual bike we were importing, and had no issues in registering it under their greenslip system and insurance system.
