How CTP Greenslips are priced
I have often wondered how it is the price of a CTP Greenslip can vary so heavily between different CTP insurance providers. Todays article will investigate what factors are used to determine the price of your CTP greenslip so you can better understand why you get charged the amount you do.
CTP Insurance Factors
- your accident record
- the age of all regular drivers that drive your vehicle
- the age of your vehicle
- the type of vehicle
- comprehensive or third party property insurance
- the purpose for which your vehicle is used (private or business)
- renewal or new Green Slip
The above criteria is used by the CTP insurance provider to then correlate with their risk assessments of the above, thus creating a price factor for the CTP greenslip. CTP insurance providers also have the ability to offer the consumer discounts and also impose loadings on premiums with the designated range allowed by the MAA premium determination guidelines.
Did you know?
That the price of greenslips is not set by the RTA, Government or MAA? It is all within the hands of CTP insurance providers, aslong as they maintain the guidelines set out by the Motor Acidents Authority (MAA).
