If you are living paycheck to paycheck, the cycle can seem like it is never going to end. Before you know it, life seems like a downward spiral of never having enough and barely getting by. You are trying to not only keep food on the table, but also prevent foreclosure on your home and all those annoying phone calls from creditors and bill collectors. Well, it is time to have a reality check and get off the living paycheck to paycheck train. By applying these tips, financial freedom is a possibility.

Pay yourself first

One secret to financial freedom is to pay yourself first. “Well how can I do that if there is not ever enough money by the end of the month?” You may ask. Pay yourself first always. When a bill collector is calling and pressuring you for their money, you will find a way to pay them, but you will never put that kind of pressure on yourself. Whether it is $10.00 or $100.00 a month, just start somewhere and start now. The sooner you start, the more you’ll save and the quicker you will be to no longer living paycheck to paycheck.

Analyze your needs and your wants

So many people say there is just no way to cut any of their monthly expenses. However they keep spending on things that are not absolute necessities. In today’s society the lines between needs and wants have become more blurred than ever before.

If you can not make ends meet consider if you have spent money on any of these items:

Cable Television

Text messaging

Dinner out

Salon services like manicures, pedicures and massages

Gym memberships

Vacations

Electronic gadgets

All of these things are wants not needs. Consider eliminating just a few of these things and you will start seeing a difference almost instantly in your monthly budget.

Start your emergency fund

A rainy day is bound to come, your tires are going to need replacing and your kids are probably going to get sick. Do not be surprised when those things happen, be prepared. Have foresight to be ready for when life throws you a curve ball.

Start now, by paying yourself first, analyzing your needs and wants and building your emergency fund. By doing these three things you will not only stop living from paycheck to paycheck, but you will feel empowered in the process.
