Default The Polished Carrot !

My Family Savings Goals for 2009 are:

1) Be completely debt free by December 11th @ 5:00pm
(I deliberately wanted to make this as specific as possible. Refines the goal and programs it into my subconscious)

2) Have no less than $10K in the Savings Account by midnight December 29th.

3) To have increased my understanding of various investment options to the point where I am completely confident in what, where, how, why and when to put our money into specific areas to generate a steady passive income stream.

4) To establish a periodical bill payment plan to stay on top of our living expenses

5) To live comfortably within the Budget we have created and watch our money GROW.

I love how you have listed an exact date and time! Very clever actually, adds that extra level of thought to the goal setup to help you work towards it.

In terms of reaching your savings account goal, depending on whether you work full time or not - i can very much back the idea of automated savings (this is what I do).

Each time I get paid, I ensure that I have an automated internet banking transfer setup to transfer exactly $400 from my pay into my high interest savings account. It is the best way to get to $10,000 easily and quickly, the money just disappears and you hopefully forget about it.

Hopefully come December, you will not only have your $10,000 but a little bit left over for any unwanted credit debts or perhaps the cost of christmas?

Thumbs up Great Possitive thoughts

Fantastic that you have such a positive and clear plan. If you want to add another couple of thousand to the kitty without much effort why not give RSM a go. I mean you need to feed the family anyway and it's money your literally just eating away, anyway. You've got nothing to lose and a lot to gain, Money that is. So check out my site with all the details RSM - Shop To Save. $$$ - Home
Good luck with your plan, Not that is sounds like you need any, as you have it all planned.
Cheers Carole
