Default My saving goals for 2009

To kick start the saving goals section, I am going to post my aspirations and savings goal for the 2009 year.

Ideally I want to share these with everyone so that I can update you as to how I am going through out the year and fingers crossed achieve them.

My saving goals for 2009 are to do the following:
  1. Save money to buy myself a new car.
  2. Save 15% of each pay cheque towards buying my first home.
  3. Increase my super contribution to 10% per month instead of 9% to ensure my superannuation grows as my pay grows.
What is everyone elses goals for this year?

I have so many that I thought I would only list a few to start with!

Default The Polished Carrot !!

My Family Savings Goals for 2009 are:

1) Be completely debt free by December 11th @ 5:00pm

(I deliberately wanted to make this as specific as possible. Refines the goal and programs it into my subconscious)

2) Have no less than $10K in the Savings Account by midnight December 29th.

3) To have increased my understanding of various investment options to the point where I am completely confident in what, where, how, why and when to put our money into specific areas to generate a steady passive income stream.

4) To establish a periodical bill payment plan to stay on top of our living expenses

5) To live comfortably within the Budget we have created and watch our money GROW.

Ok I will need to update this as I go but I thought I should put something on here right away to get me going.

I don't really have any set goals. I will work on the specifics soon! I just need a car so I need to cut back on my spending and maybe increase my income to afford the monthly payments.

So I'll say goals for now is to get financing for a car and make every payment. Simple but important!

Once I figure out how much I can afford and get my car I'll make some long term savings goals!

Good Luck Everyone!

Default Car repayments & credit ratings

I like it Lisa

The last thing you want is to get a car loan and not be able to repay the loan.

It will dent your credit rating and also make cash flow a MASSIVE issue.

I would say be conservative in what you can afford for car payments. As you earn more, you can always increase your repayment amount - just check you don't get penalised for doing so!
