Default voip and mynetfphone

I have been using voip through mynetfone.com.au for 2 years now and have saved hundreds of dollars, as well as having another phone line for the teenagers.

It was very easy to set up and using the phone was the same as telstra -no special numbers to call or add to phone numbers.
mynetfone sends out a preconfigared box that hooks up to your adsl modum and to a normal phone (in my case a cordless phone).
you get a normal phone number(silent number) as well as a mynetfone number that other mynetfone uses can call for free.............

10 cent phone calls to any normal landline number (exp 13 19 numbers)
15 cents per minute without any connection charges to any mobiles .
With the fiber to the home coming soon i will be ditching Telstra when i get fiber to the home.

VOIP is amazingly cheap isn't it. We are only just catching on to its amazing ability at the moment, but the savings you can make reach far into the hundreds of dollars.

Did you get a VOIP compatible phone? Or did they give you one?

Wow that's a pretty cool idea, you should talk about some of the other ways you save money in the other sections around your house?

VOIP is on my top 5 list of 'must haves' when it comes to saving money.

I think Pennytel is pretty good - it does have the pain of having to dial a number and Pennytel rings you back - but it does make calling mobiles from a mobile a LOT cheaper. I have mine set up through my mobile phone, and I can call other mobile phones for 80cents no matter how long I want to talk for.
You can also set it up through your landline too, without need for a converter box, because you phone pennytel instead. Most landlines (including 80 other countries other than Australia) are about 8cents a call, or free if you get a certain plan.
The site is www.pennytel.com for anyone who is interested.

Penny Tell looks interesting - will have to check it out

I am still using a homephone via a telco at home, I have voip setup but just failed to ever get it going properly =(

Maybe that is my goal for this year; Convert 100% to VOIP.

I got my magicjack and its awesome! I don't know for sure if it would work perfect for everyone but for 40 bucks there isn’t much room for any let down anyway.

Skype is another voip phone service that works with computer.
Aside from making an international calls, you can also chat and video chat
using this service.

I am using Vonage and it's great! It has complete features. Easy to use and hassle free. One great thing about Vonage is that, you don't need to leave your computer on to use it because it connects directly to your internet.

Majicjock sounds interesting for me.
It's way more cheaper than any other similar services.
They offer 30 day free trial so it's a plus factor for people who's planing to purchase it.
