Default Where do you do your grocery shopping?

I just heard today that ALDI supermarkets can help you save up to 60% on your grocery bills per shop.

Eg; Tin foil @ Coles = $5.90

As opposed to ALDI which is only $1.99

Anyone else used ALDI before? Is the quality good?

Default I have started using ALDI

I have since writing my first post above started to use ALDI.

The savings are amazing! I am totally amazed I haven't shopped there since they first came out a few years ago!

Default Fruit, Veg and Meat @ ALDI

Believe it or not, I actually buy all my fresh fruit and veg + meat from ALDI.

They are about half the price of my local coles.

Has anyone heard about Coles and Woolworths having contracts with shopping centres to limit grocery store numbers? Apparently that is one thing that has caused a problem for ALDI expanding to all areas of Australia.

Aldi are by a ridiculous margin cheaper than the alternatives. In my household we are switching to more and more Aldi stocked brands as the quality is comparable if not better than the more traditional brands. Somethings you just can't settle for though (I'm thinking Tim Tams here) but the fresh produce ****s all over Coles and Woolies.

Another great thing we do is visit a growers market every now and then - the produce is incredible and it is so cheap as you're buying it directly from the growers. If there's one in your area on a Saturday or Sunday morning I highly recommend checking it out. Quite often there's foodstalls and entertainment at some of the bigger ones so it makes a nice morning out as well.

Default W.A hasn't got Aldi YET...

I do my shopping at Woollies, but I am a department manager at a almost country store. So to travel any further would cost in petrol. Although if their is a super special at another outlet and I am traveling down the hill for another reason then I would go and get the special, of course.

But shopping at my own store makes sense, for these reasons:

1. I get staff discount 5% on all purchases.

2. I know the really good buys.

3. I know the best time of day to shop for clearances.

4. I change my day as I use the RSM Quicksave method. (13 full shopping saves a year).

5. I get the reward points using my Everyday rewards credit card (which I put the money in before using it). These points covert to more money as they give me a wish gift card to spend, what every the points come to automatically every three months.

But having said all this, WHEN Aldi finally comes to W.A I will be giving it a go.

There has been a lot of good feed back on the store and I look forward to finding new ways to save.

I get a real Buzz out of a bargain or a great savings.

6. I am there Monday to Friday anyway, so it's no extra traveling.

ALDI offers good quality, super low prices and guaranteed available products everyday. I'm a loyal ALDI shopper, i haven't shop at any other supermarkets since ALDI came out.

Not many familiar brands.

They offer their own products.

But one thing for sure, they are of good quality.

Cost are much lower, a real good place to stock up on canned goods.
