Default What is the best budgeting software to use?

Hi all,

I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction in terms of what different options are available for budgeting software and programs?

Ideally the budget software should:
  1. Produce home budgets for the family to follow
  2. Analyze success of previous budgets, eg; have a history option.
  3. Be Australian made
  4. Be able to segment the budget into different areas for me to understand where I can improve.
I have previously used an excel spreadsheet personal budget but feel it is time to become a bit more strategic with my budgeting.

What programs or software have you used? Any recommendations?

**UPDATE:***

We have released our own Budget Spreadsheet. Better than any other on the market!

Default Potential Budgeting Software

I somehow keep finding this company in Google and other searches when I am looking for budgeting software.

Personal Budget Software - Free Home Budgeting Program for the Family

It is made by a company called YNAB and looks like it has some great features.

YNAB has this to say about its features:

Quote:
YNAB’s revolutionary budgeting interface lets you quickly and easily see what funds you have available to budget and then allocate those funds to your own custom spending categories. If funds are not spent in a particular month, they roll over to the next month so your balances can accumulate.

You can monitor your spending category balances throughout the month to ensure your spending is in line with your goals.
Maybe you could give this a shot?

Default Budgeting Software

Finding the best budgeting software can be nearly as important as making the decision to budget. I suggest you should try Buddi. It is an open-source personal finance and budgeting program which will run on any machine with java installed.

Have a look at Piggybudget. It is not written by Australians, but on the other hand it is free, looks very nice and is written in Java so run on any OS.
