If your want to spend $50 on a "bargain"...check your mortgage calculator to see what that $50 could save you if you put it on the mortgage instead... Go here... Lump Sum Repayments Calculator - Bendigo Bank (screen grab attached below...bank.jpg) Simply put in YOUR mortgage balance the time left of you mortgage.. enter your "temptation" amount and set the "Lump sum payment made after" slider at 0yr Have a look at the "Interest Saved" line under the graph. From my examle you can see that my $50 dress is actually worth $108.75 if I put that same $50 on my mortgage. NOW IT IS YOUR TURN Using the same calculator above fill in how much 1,2,3,4,5,10,15,20,30,40,50,75,100,200 is and fill in the zipped excel file (savings table.zip) also attached. Print out the table (it should be credit card sized) and keep in your wallet. Remind yourself EVERYTIME you need to spend money how much it is REALLY costing you.. All of a sudden $50 dress or $100 "special" dinner looks mighty scary ![]() Cheers Sue |
